Aside from Mortal Kombat, we’re pretty much left with no graphic intensive side-view fighting game with the exception of Capcom’s Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom Series. And well, if you are done with the story and the enjoyable parts of the latest Mortal Kombat X, Marvel vs Capcom:Infinite is probably the one to look out for at September this year!
It has now gotten a release date along with some of the characters that are going to be in the game. Joining the game from the Marvel side are Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, and Rocket Raccoon. From Capcom’s roster of iconic characters, it’s Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu, and Chris Redfield stepping into the fray. These characters unite to bring down Marvel villain Ultron, who is also a playable character.
The new dramatic story mode will bring the player to an event where Ultron and Sigma from the Mega Man series have joined forces and plan to unleash a cybernetic virus which will allow them to control both of the universes. But of course, the good guys will join forces as well, and will be a treat to watch as they exchange dialogues and kick ass together.
“For the first time in franchise history, the Marvel and Capcom universes collide in a visually stunning and immersive cinematic Story Mode, as heroes and villains battle together to save their merged worlds from a sinister new threat, Ultron Sigma,” Capcom explains in a press release.
“A combination of the robotic foes known as Ultron from the Marvel Universe and Sigma from the Capcom Universe, this psychotic villain is obsessed with infecting all organic life with a cybernetic virus. History’s greatest gathering of warriors must now unite to fight back against Ultron Sigma and save their newly formed world.”
There’s also some information on the different versions of the game that will be released. It has been confirmed tht there’s going to be a deluxe version aside from the regular one which costs $90 and will have “the main game and 2017 Character Pass, featuring all six additional post launch characters including Sigma, the main antagonist from the Mega Man X series.”
For PS4 and Xbox one players, there’s going to be the collector’s edition that will include “four premium character dioramas of Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X, and Chun-Li, a case filled with six Infinity Stone replicas, as well as SteelBook packaging that contains the Deluxe Edition of the game.” and will cost around $199.
Aside from that, the North Americans who decide to preorder the game will get the Evil Ryu and Warrior Thor costumes. Furthermore, preordering the deluxe version will get you these goodies plus Command Mission X and Gladiator Hulk costumes. There’s no information of preorder bonuses in other regions, yet. So stay tuned in order to keep yourself updated with the juicy bits!
