Most Terrifying Zombie Experience They’ve Ever Made, Says Sledgehammer
We’ve already known about the new zombie mode in Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: World War II but it hasn’t been too stressed upon. However, the senior director at Sledgehammer, Jon Horsley says that the zombies mode for the game will be similar to the ones in the previous titles where players are pit off against a wave of zombies that gets more and more difficult as the player progresses through the rounds.
“[T]he mode is focused on exciting four-player cooperative combat against waves of increasingly deadly zombies,” Horsley said. The mode will be “grounded in a gritty, horrifying setting”
The mode draws inspiration from other horror games like Dead space to make it one of the most terrifying zombie experiences that they’ve ever made. He also shed some light on the mode’s story and setting:
“Zombies will take place in a quiet Bavarian village in Germany in the later years of WWII,” he revealed. “Players will be transported to a horrifying corner of the town, where bloody sewers, evil laboratories, and ancient tombs will reveal their dark secrets”. You will also face different types of zombies, with each of them filling a ‘specialized role’. Two examples of such zombies that Horsley said are the flaming and the running zombies that can be trouble if the player is cornered.
